JUNE 3, 2013
6:00 - 8:00 PM
Jennifer Massolo, Founder of Spirited Sirens, will pay homage to Mexico, with a two-hour sampling session dedicated to tequila and mezcal, the often times smokier cousin spirit of tequila made from the fermented juices of the agave plant. Mexican Maidens will be hosted by Massolo, at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink (“Michael’s Genuine”), owned by James Beard Award-winning chef/owner Michael Schwartz, which focuses on preparing fresh, seasonal dishes through the use of locally sourced ingredients.
Guests can expect to sample a welcome cocktail as well as two neat tequilas, two neat mezcals and one closing cocktail. Imbibers will also pair their drinks with bites from Michael's Genuine, which includes two dishes to share family-style. At the end of the night, maidens will raise their spoons to a sweet ending with a treat from pastry chef, Hedy Goldsmith. The tasting will begin at 6:30 PM, but guests attending are invited to arrive as early as 6:00 PM to enjoy a welcome cocktail and bite.
