PAO at the Faena Hotel - (3/7/16) I have dined at PAO twice now since it opened in the luxurious Faena hotel and I have been VERY impressed each time. The dining room is sexy and well designed and the food and service are on point. On Miami Beach at 30th and Collins. "Modern Asian cuisine from James Beard Foundation award-winning Chef Paul Qui in a spectacular ocean view setting".
27 Restaurant - If you're familiar with one of the best bars in town, The Broken Shaker, then you should also know their restaurant, 27. These guys are not only passionate about cocktails but also food. 27 is situated on the south west corner of the property, in a lovely historic home. The restaurant is on the ground floor and a cottage like bar is upstairs. Some favourite dishes are: Arepa Platter, Griot & Pickliz and the radishes in brown butter when available. Very fresh, menu changes frequently.
Michael's Genuine Food & Drink - In the Design District of Miami. The original farm to table restaurant now featuring an expanded raw bar program. Michael's will always be my first choice, first recommended and default. The freshest of ingredients come together on the ever-changing menu. Additionally, the cocktail and wine program is one of the finest in the city. Favourite dishes: Crispy Rice Cake, the pizza, Crispy Hominy, the daily roasted fish, the steak, the vegetables...it's all good!
Mandolin - A charming and consistently delicious place to get some of the best Mediterranean food in Miami. Their original location in the Design District is my go to for any occasion and the new spot in Soho Beach House, also in a lovely garden setting with beach breezes is diving. Favourite dishes: Taramasalata, Kefte, Shrimp Ouzo & Grilled Octopus.

NEW YORK CITY
Trou Normand - Next to one of the most handsome skyscrapers in the city, Trou Normand is well know for their charcuterie. We sat outside in their L'Orangerie and had a lovely spring lunch of pig parts, pasta, salads and a good white burgundy.
From their website: Trou Normand focuses on whole-animal butchery and house-made charcuterie using pork from Riverdog Farm and dried meats made from rare Mangalitsa pigs bred exclusively by Csarda Haz Farm and Dinner Bell Farm. We have up to 40 types of salumi and charcuterie available all-day with seasonal sides, pasta and chophouse style cuts of meat for dinner. Lunch is served throughout the week, featuring handmade sandwiches and freshly-brewed Four Barrel coffee. Our menus change daily based on the freshest, local ingredients available.
